I hear this online many times from the apostolic community if you preach truth then folks wont want to listen or join the church.
May I present to you another factor, that folks desire truth but don’t want to list to a dogmatic preacher who yells and screams at them from the pulpit. Which many do claiming and anointing which in may cases is simply arrogantism. An arrogant preacher will talk down to the Saints using terminology such as ‘you’ instead of ‘us.’ thereby plaving him above the hearers and better then them! That’s arrogance!
I’M all for fiery preaching, preaching that stirs the soul and disturbs the comfortable, but good preaching attracts people. Good preaching builds a bond with the hearer as a physician would a patient. He diagnosis he problem then suggest a course of action, them applies the remedy or medication. Jesus is our Great Physician, a specialist in the wiles and woes of humankind. He knows our heart and just how to speak that word in season. Further he is the True or the truth! He can make a correct diagnosis and knows the right word and words to give us in order to set us free, heal our soul and make us whole again.
Folks know truth from lies, We live in a world of fake news and false media. In Jesus days He simply spoke Truth and the crowds gathered around him, yes crowds multitudes, he had a massive following wherever he went and he himself was the Truth
Don’t stop preaching the Truth, just ask the Lord for wisdom in how to present it and convey it. Your goal is not to sound preachy but to save the soul. Use the Word and preach as a dying man to dying men
