The Pre-eminence of Jesus

He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14. in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 15The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  16.For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him.

He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and firstborn from among the dead, so that in ALL THINGS  He (Jesus) may have preeminence. For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, 20 and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through the blood of His cross. (Colossians 1:13-19).

Preminence means first place. No one should call him a ‘second person’ because he has preeminence in ALL things. Preeminence as to his deity, supremacy, sovereignity and person. He has pre-eminence in all things. He has preeminence because all of deity dwells full in him. He therefore has all the ability of God all the wisdom of God and all the power of God.

Christ the image of God
God is Spirit that is invisible hence he has no visible feet hands etc ‘image’ no likeness or No one like him. but Christ… ‘We note accordingly (1) that the word “image” (like the word “form,”Philippians 2:6,7) is used in the New Testament for real and essential embodiment, as distinguished from mere likeness.’ (Ellicotts). No one like him, hence he is the image of the invisible God or he is God himself.

Gods person was the beginning of all creation
Rev 3;14 the beginning of creation The person of the Lord is unbegotten uncreated and from everlasting to everlasting he is God. Christ is the visible representation of the invisible God, the Firstborn and Lord of all creation. (WEYMOUTH)

The first born of every creature
This is not a reference to ‘the Son of God’ This verse is telling us that the first bron is the invisdible God, who became flesh. (son). He is the firstborn, the first one who existed the self existing one, not born of another. and that he made peace through his blood. The only begotten ion John1:14 is not the Son born of Mary But Jehovah. Col 1:15

Christ has all preeminence.
Why because the fulness of all deity dwells in him.
He hath declared him. ‘ He’ ekinos He and He alone. He and only he can declare him. He and only he can manifest him. He and he alone can be him. The pronouin is emphatic. Jesus alone is the revelation and revealer of God. Jesus is the light, life and and begotten Son ‘ekinois’
In him was life (1;) and and from him comes all life. The word life is described 17 times as eternal ‘aionions‘ life by John in his gospel of the life. from him ‘eternity’ gets its energy. He is the bread from heaven, the ‘living bread’ or ‘the bread of life’ and from him all life gets his energy. All sustenance, food, energy and life comes from him he is the living bread. that feeds all men LIFE!

The logos, God’s own voice. establishes nations, declares all things to be, calls worlds into existence, calls hidden things into visibility. systems and intelligences, all things imagines spoken and thought by himself into being and to comprehend the life of Christ is to comprehend the life of GOD.

Christ the Light
Light is the main theme of Johns gospel and in verse four after declaring Jesus the logos or the mind thought will and intelligence of God he declares him to be the light. John the Baptist called himself the lamp later he calls himself a voice (John1:23) while Jesus is called the light, a light gives light only after it has been lit. but Christ was always, form the beginning of the world, the light of the world and the light of life.  (John 8:12 Psalm 27:1).

Preaching TRUTH is no barrier to CHURCH growth

I hear this all the time online coming from apostolic pastors well if you preach truth people don’t want to know in other words this is the reason my church is small and not growing.. But that’s OK because I’m loyal to God and I preaching truth… Is this true?

Is thus true or it an excuse for staying small! According to SCRIPTURE, the Truth master preached truth and GREAT MULTITUDES gathered to listen to him. Matthew 13.2.

The apostles spoke and THOUSANDS believed and were born again of water and Spirit in Acts. They preached TRUTH to the point that they gained the reputation ‘these that have turned the whole world upside down are among us. Acts19:26. Acts 17:6.

In Acts 14 we read and when they had PREACHED THE GOSPEL to that city and made MANY disciples.. V21

Phillip went down to Samaria and preached the gospel and Multitude with one accord headed to the things spoken by Phillip Acts 8:5 and 6.

The solution it’s not what you preach it’s how you tell it.

Its not your preaching style that makes you apostolic or pentecostal but your influence and ability to win the lost.

Its not how loud your preach but how much does the Holy Host speak through you.

People hate the fake and false and do want the truth.

Its a lie. Preaching truth keeps you small.. NO! Truth does change lives preaching truth does change Cities and nations because truth is a person and when we preach Jesus he said then I will draw ALL men unto me.

Paul

The Brethren.

We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. 1 John 3:14:
If anyone claims to be in the light but hates his brother, he is still in the darkness. / Whoever loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no cause of stumbling in him. / But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness. He does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. (1 John 2:9-11 BEREAN).
The Saviour meant that his followers should be known by this badge of discipleship all over the world, John 13:34-35. John says, in carrying out the sentiment, that Christians, by this test, may know “among themselves” whether they have any true religion. (BARNES).
He walks in this darkness the darkness that makes men avoid each other, be jealous and envious of each other, things of themselves are to important to connect of those of lower estate, such darkness! darkness is deceitful, its make a Cain kill and Abel. A brother of colour hate a white man, a  rich man look down on one lesser fortunate. We however are delivered from the power of such darkness. Hallelujah!
He is passed from death to life. how do we know that we have passed out of death to life, If we have love for the brethren. This love for one another is not possible in the unregenerate man, he loves himself alone. his love is self centered and loves those who are favoured by him but this love, prefers others, elevates others, enriches others, sees others better than themselves. Its a love that bonds brothers into armies, its the love that unites brothers in battles, its the love that connects brothers in faith and causes those who are alone to become members of a family, the family of God.
The death of brotherly love comes through jealousy, hatred strife and bitterness, man cannot love another purely without the Lord a man cannot love another righteously without himself being redeemed from the curse of hatred. Its the Lord alone that changes a mans heart. the Lord alone who imparts the desire for men of God to unite to do the work of God to take on big projects and do amazing things. to combine resources and attain new heights, to share ideas and change their world. Big men do big things Godly men do God size things, great things because two are better than one and have a greater reward. like Elisha and Elijah, Moses and Aaron, David and Jonathan, Paul and Timothy, Peter and Cornelius. Great men connect to do greater things.
Lets connect to do the bigger thing.
Because we love the brethren!
